Over at Leo Babauta's Zen Habits, a guest post about the very essence of being self-employed or even just any endeavor or career was discussed - being self-reliant by learning how to be your own executive assistant.
In summary, the invaluable tips that Chrissy, an executive assistant herself, has imparted include scheduling your activities, using productivity-boosting tools, and track your accomplishments or lack thereof.
Another important advice I've learned while managing my own home based business is to always remember the best benefity from accomplishing a simple task. May it be answering just an email inquiry or tracking the delivery of goods, always keeping in mind the long-term effects of my actions now makes me give more meaning to simple tasks that seem too trivial for any big honchos out there.
Sure we may need an extra hand some time soon either in the form of an executive assistant with whom you'll share your home office with or a virtual assistant. However, this does not usually happen unless you've surmount the obstacles of running a one-man show which is what many home based businesses are all about.
Do you have any magical tip or just any simple way of motivating yourself to be the most efficient assistant you've ever had?
