Avoid Your Home Business Being Hated by Your Neighbors
Filed in archive General on September 20, 2006
Reports from various online news sites show how some home businesses, especially the brick and mortar types, become nuisance to residential communities:
"a resident complained about the traffic created by a neighbor's accounting business" - chicago tribune
"Others worry a business located in a residential area will have an adverse effect on property values." - themountainmail
Other complaints from neighbors include the changing nature of the neighborhood from residential to more of a business type, and unfair competition.
To ABATE these complaints, the following were recommended:
1. Minimize the number of non-resident employees.
2. Reduce vehicle weight parked at residences.
2. Park vehicles in the driveway and not on the street.
You surely wouldn't want to get to the bad side of your neighbors because that will not reap your home business your desired viral effect from your "neighbor's word of mouth."
