If you work from home with your own business, you might be feeling the tough economic times a little. (I know I am.) So it helps to know you have some extra options to fall back on when things get a little rough.
Don't worry, you don't have to get a part-time gig at McDonalds to make ends meet while things are a little scarce. There are plenty of little things you can do if you're already working at home and have some free time. Blogging is one of those things.
Paid blogging will not normally bring in a huge amount of cash unless you are doing it full time. But plenty of companies will outsource their writing for cheap. If you can write a decent 300 word article in an hour, it might be worth looking into.
The two best places I've found to look for blogging gigs are ProBlogger's Job Board and freelancing websites. Problogger has top-notch blogging gigs that pay a little better but usually involve more long term commitments. Freelancing websites will have cheaper work and often quick deadlines but can really help if you're in an immediate spot for cash (though you'll probably have tougher competition).
Blogging at a pay per post rate can range anywhere from $10-12 an article on the high end to as low as fifty cents. But a couple of gigs, 5 posts a week at $7 a post can lead to some nice side money when you don't have quite as many clients as you'd like.
A word of warning: do a little bit of a background check if you use a freelancing site. Some of those gigs can be scams. Just be careful. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
Have you ever blogged for quick cash? What was your experience like?
