Free Camtasia Software

I just found out that Techsmith, the creator of SnagIT which has sponsored our blog is currently giving away free Camtasia Software.

Camtasia is a software that can convert your videos so you can put it on the web. There are many uses for camtasia. One is to create online tutorials. I suppose if you have an internet business and you are marketing a software product, you might be getting a lot of emails or calls for support for your product. Why not just create a video and show people a step by step instruction on how to use your product? It sure beats just having an FAQ.

Create presentations with it, or make a video of yourself marketing your product. It creates more credibility and besides, people like to watch instead of reading something.

Here's the procedure on how to download Camtasia.

1. Download the free trial version of Camtasia Studio 3

2. Go to this promotion page, complete your name, country
and e-mail address and Techsmith will send you the software
key to unlock the program.

3. Just install the program you downloaded from step 1 above
and then enter the software key you receive from Techsmith
and you'll have a fully working version of Camtasia Studio 3
on your PC.

At first I thought there was a catch somewhere so when they emailed me the software key, I found out what the catch was. Actually, it was not a catch but it is a way for them to generate more sales. The version they are currently giving away for free is version 3 but the latest version is version 5. In the email I received containing the key, they are enticing the readers to upgrade to the latest version. So that's the catch.

One doesn't need to upgrade. You'll still get a working camtasia software and that's a very nice deal if you ask me. After all, it is still free :-)
