An exciting work from home career worth looking into is a Virtual Assistant. Many companies now outsource their secretarial jobs to "virtual" secretaries. The job can entail anything from simple calendar keeping to full social media upkeep. Depending on what kind of work you do, here are some of our favorite free tools to keep you on track.
• Google Voice: If you client has a google voice number you can track phone messages, emails and even business texts for them.
• Google Apps (or at least Google Docs): Keep calendars, documents and even personal emails all in one place.
• BaseCamp: The free version of basecamp can get you started in project management. (Worth investing in, if you have multiple projects like this.)
• MailChimp: For Newsletter creation.
• Shareaholic: If you do any social media worth, make it easy to share a files, articles and blog posts.
• Ping.FM: Share on multiple social media sites at once. Very powerful when paired with Shareaholic.
• TweetDeck: If you run multiple twitter profiles, use a desktop program like Tweetdeck to separate your feeds while still being able to check all of them at a glance.
These are just a few of the quick free tools that can simple your life. Be sure to scan through browser plug-ins, live desks and instant message programs as well.
