Get a Free Phone Number for Your Business
Having a separate phone number for your business is both convenient and professional looking, but not everyone wants to deal with the expense of adding a second line to their home phone or the hassle of having two cell phones. There is an easier way. Check out Grand Central. This is a service offered by Google. It allows you to pick a number in any area code you want. This number will ring through to whatever line you assign to it, home, cell, or both-but your callers will never know! It also provides you with free voice mail with a personalized greeting, email or text based notifications of new voicemails, call screening, and more. It's a great way to provide customers with a business phone number without any expense or hassle. You can even assign ringtones to specific callers or groups so you'll know when a business call is coming through. It also keeps your home phone number private, which is great for us home based business people! Go to their website and click reserve, Pick your number and sign up. It will tell you they will let you know when they are accepting new customers, but in my experience you get an email the very next day telling you you're accepted! Give it a try!
