There are some business expenses that many would try to put off shouldering when putting up a business. Here's my take on each of those no-budget-yet items:

1. Marketing Materials
This depends whether you will be putting up a brick and mortar home business or an online business. It sure is a lot more practical to not start getting too giddy with all those glossy brochures too early. Simpler flyers and posters should do the trick. Businesses that would do better having online presence, which most businesses actually must work on, will be do well with the help of blogging and SEO.

2. Software
Google Docs and Spreadsheet, Basecamp, and as in-your-face as MS Office tools, which have always been one-click away and most importantly FREE can help you do your project management tasks without thinking of spiking bills.

3. Advertising
One cool way to save on advertising is to film DIY processes that are related to your business and upload them online through YouTube. (Small Business Branding)

4. Office Space
If you can, simply emptying one unused room in your home will do. However, if you will be working as a virtual assistant printing and faxing documents and taking calls from clients often investing in a well-stuffed home office will make you more productive. 5. Staff
Be an expert multi-tasker or outsource. That's my own mantra. But if I think that my business is starting to deserve some venture capital, hiring another pair of hands to free me for more important things will surely cross my mind.
