Phone bill, water bill, electric bill, laundry bill, mobile phone bill - the list of bills that we have to pay in our lifetime is endless, and we can rightfully dread the bill collector when he or she comes up to our doorstep and demands payment. It can be difficult to pay bills, and difficult to keep track of all of them. Ask businesses and companies, however, and they will tell you that over and above bill payment and tracking is the difficulty of collecting bill payments.

Customers fleeing or evading bill collectors, customers who pay less than the total amount that they owe, bounced checks, and empty bank accounts are only a few of the problems that companies face when it comes to bill collecting. Companies that are spread over a large coverage area need to collect bills from every single point in that area - a feat that is easy when you are traveling roads in the well-paved city, but something that can be difficult if you have to go out into the country, go through alleys and byways, back roads and backwaters, only to meet up with dead ends.

Some companies have solved these problems by outsourcing their bill collection. Instead of centralizing operations in their main office, they contact satellite offices or outsourced bill collecting companies to do their outside work for them. Bills are then remitted to the main company, with the bill collecting company receiving money for their services. This outsourcing is advantageous to companies that operate in areas where roads or bridges are not well-made, and where neighbors are close enough to each other and can pay bills when they are demanded.
