Many assume that only kids have the need for music tutors. But statistics from the US Department of Employment shows that there may be other age groups in need of your services as well. Retirees, because they now have more free time, and those who are about to retire might wish to learn playing a musical instrument
to expand their knowledge and eliminate boredom at the same time. Young adults may also choose to learn playing a musical instrument to increase their knowledge or for various social reasons. What are the Working Hours for Home-Based Music Tutors?
During school season, expect your students to desire having lessons between 2:30 to 9:00pm. Summer, however, could have your entire days booked up...but only if you're willing to work full-time, of course. During summer, this type of home based business can be ideal for teenagers, too.
How Many Students Do You Need to Take?
That's up to you. If it's your first time to teach music, you could start easy and just work with one student per hour and have him meet you a few days a week. Once you get used to handling the pressures of personally teaching a student, you could increase the number of students you're accepting and even hold lessons for multiple students. Group classes will allow you to earn more for a shorter period of time, but you'll need to exert greater effort and handle greater pressure as well.
