Capital varies from company to company. Some cosmetics companies require that you buy a small package of their products and, in return, you get the right to sell their products to other people for a commission as well as referring other people who may also want to endorse the company's products. The capital involved often covers the price of a cosmetics package, plus a few extra dollars for the marketing aids included in the package like pamphlets and containers. Etailing can get even less capital extensive; cosmetics companies which sponsor etailers will usually have a home website and will give you your own home page, with the only payment being a small sign up fee for your membership.
This depends on how you want to sell the products, of course. There are those who want to do a door-to-door direct selling. There are those as mentioned who prefer etailing or online selling. Doing a face-to-face direct selling will of course incur more expenses than online selling.
