Here's a review of this Brother printer that's said to be more for a small business than a home printer:
This is the first time I've tested a multifunction printer from Brother and I have to say I liked the MFC-9440CN. With a MSPR of $869, the device is more suited to a small business or home office than it is for home use. Having said that, if you have deep pockets and want this device for your home then you'd be quite happy with it. It's not designed as a photo printer, so you shouldn't have expectations of printing off your photo collection - this is a working machine.
The MFC-9440CN is a five-function colour device that prints, scans, copies, faxes and PC-faxes. At 21 pages per minute (ppm), when printing, the 9440 is plenty fast for an office environment. You can easily scan or copy at a high enough resolution to be more than suitable for office needs, and pictbridge capability allows you to print directly from a PictBridge compatible camera or from a USB thumb drive.
This device has security features you'd want for an office environment. Printing, copying, faxing and scanning are all secure functions that would help you to control your costs - you don't need to worry about an unauthorized individual firing off a hundred copies of their favourite colour photo for all their friends and relatives.
According to the Brother website, its estimated street price is $699.99, which means I'm still a fan of the HP1610!
