1. Never be afraid of risks. If your small business needs bigger capital, then go ahead and solicit for help from lending firms. Just be able to tell which ones offer great deals and make sure to pay your obligations on time. Make good use of the resource that you borrowed-in other words, invest well.
2. Build a business on what your heart dictates. Never be a slave to a business that you think you could handle but do not actually like. If you are artistically inclined, then go ahead and establish an arts shop. Work will be more like play if you like what you're doing.
3. Be better able to deliver what you promise to your customers. Do not whine in their faces, telling them the reasons why you weren't able to make the shipment deadline. Offer solutions instead (customers want to hear this more than excuses). And if the situation would dictate, give your frustrated customers some form of rebate.
4. Solicit feedbacks not only from your customers but also from your employees (if you have some). They are the ones that know which areas you need to improve in.
If you would be able to keep these simple resolutions (they're old but time-tested), then your home-based business will have nowhere to go but up!

I have one objection. Do you always get to do what you really like? I do not think so. There are hundreds and thousands of people who can not afford to do what they like. I think you should write another article that would help these people.
