Project management software is a general term that covers many different kinds of software, each of them fulfilling certain tasks related to running businesses. Using project management software, you can schedule tasks or meetings, analyze documents related to budget management and cost control, analyze documents related to the allocation of resources, communication, and other aspects of project management, especially those that are associated with large, complex projects.

Project management software can either be commercial, or bought for a fee; or free or open-source, with the latter pertaining to project management software that you can tweak to fit your needs. Some project management software can be used online, while others need to be downloaded or bought from the store. Some project management software can be used only by one person, while others can bring many different users together to contribute to the success of a project.
