Online Job Search Preparations

Have your resume ready for lookers. When companies look through your resume, they will check out your work experience, grades, and educational experience. Provide all these in an easy to read resume. Remember, these companies have little time to browse through ten pages of text, so keep your resume short but informative. Keep the file size small as well, say by limiting the text to a few pages, and not attaching your picture.
If you intend to provide web-based services, or if you have things that you would like to share with the employer but cannot attach them to email, then you may need to have a personal website. Make something simple and easy to read, and if you can afford it, but a domain name so that companies can remember you easily.
Learn how to protect yourself. There are many recruiters in the digital world that prey on new applicants by offering jobs that are too good to be true, or charging them for scam network marketing deals. Ask around before you answer a recruiter's email, and report the recruiter to authorities if you notice anything suspicious.
