Spring Cleaning For Your Home Office

1. Get rid of clutter. The very first thing to do is to go thorough your desk and surroundings and get rid of any papers, catalogs, etc, you no longer need. This is a good time to file away your 2007 invoices and related business documents(provided you've already done your taxes!). Once you've pared down the paper pile, sort what's left into labeled file folders or bins.
2. Dust and clean. Clear your desk completely and wipe it down with either a good all purpose cleaner or if it's wood, a good furniture polish. Dust bookshelves and bins and if you have one, clean the window. Use a can of compressed air to clean your keyboard, or simply turn it upside down and shake firmly. You'll be surprised at what comes up! You can also use compressed air to clean your printer and fax.
3. Clean sweep. Finally, vacuum carpet if you have it, or sweep the floor if you don't. Chairs too! Take smaller rugs outside and shake them out.
Once you're done you should have sparkling office to be proud of. Enjoy it for a few minutes and then get back to work!
