As you begin to plan your calendar for 2010, start thinking about the different business seminars that you might like to attend. All of these events have a different purpose, from marketing to trends to small business expos. Here are some to consider:

Small Business Seminar: Moving Your Business Forward in a Stuck Economy - Jan. 19th Brooklyn, NY.
The theme of this seminar is "stop stewing and start doing" presented by Alan Siege, MBA of Small Business Management Consulting. This event will show how you can refocus during the economic down-turn and stay afloat.

BizSpark Camp: (Multiple Dates & Places throughout the US).
These events for start-up tech companies are put on by Microsoft. Cash awards and software are up for grabs. I spoke on a panel at the Dallas BizSpark last year and had a blast. The all day seminars are very learning intensive but based mostly on audience participation so you know your questions about software, funding, social media, etc. will be answered.

Small Business Conference 2010: Feb. 10th Arlington, VA.
The theme of this year's business conference is "Start. Build. Conquer." And goes though all the stages a small business experiences. Full of varied topics and discussions, many covering how to connect and work with the government, this is a event to attend if you are in the Virginia area.

Franchising & Business Opportunities Expo: May `15th - 16th Perth, Australia
For our non-American readers, a great program is going on in Australia. If you're not actually in a company yet but want to learn more, it's a good idea to look into franchising and other business opportunities. (Note: If this interests you but you can't get to Australia, its worth googling to see if a local business opportunity expo will be in your area.)
