As a home-based business owner, one of the most important concerns you will ever have is how to get the best exposure for your business and attract customers. After all, no business will thrive without people knowing who you are and what your business has to offer. Many of us will spend a lot of working hours creating a buzz about their products and services through tireless marketing. Ads, flyers, brochures, e-mails, TV appearances, announcements, you've probably done it all. But did you know you can make use of conferences, trade shows and exhibits as well? Here are ways on how you can do it:
Know to which industry the conference attendees belong.
As a home-based business owner, you know what you have to sell. Now, do you know to whom you should sell? There are dozens of conferences that occur around the country each week but not every one is a good vehicle for your business. Would you sell your home-based bookkeeping business to a group of people attending a conference on genetics or display your scrapbook samples at a trade show focusing on raising pigs? That would be a really long shot.
To hone in on the right target, do some research about the industry you want to break into and find out about associations and clubs that regularly host relevant conferences, trade shows and exhibits. You can narrow down your list of conferences, exhibits and shows to attend by checking their theme, relevance and location. That way, you don't waste valuable resources on a useless activity.
