1. Whether you are working with an outsourcing company or people from abroad, do not delegate tasks involving confidential company information, such as taxes or bill payments. No matter how much you trust the company or your virtual assistant, confidential information should be kept confidential. You can never tell where that email or letter will lead: predators lurk everywhere, whether online or offline, so learn to protect yourself by keeping your secrets close.
2. Learn to let go. If you have long been in the home business, you may be used to taking control of everything. When you begin outsourcing tasks, you may feel that you are losing control over certain aspects of your home business. What outsourcing does, however, is to give you greater control over aspects of your home business that need your full attention. These include marketing, advertising, and public relations, all of which can make your business grow,
Any time that you feel yourself itching to call up that virtual assistant to check on his or her tasks, or any time that you want to email your outsourcing company to check on the documents you want delivered and printed, stop and take a deep breath. Remember that letting go can give you more profit, and take confidence in the fact that these little tasks are saving you time for more important things that can make your company grow.
