Consider which areas in your home-based business need security.
Surely, not every folder or file in your home office presents a security problem. Determine which documents need to be kept private and which ones can be made available to most people. That way, you don't waste time protecting stuff that really won't suffer from a lack of privacy.
Impose a physical barrier between your home and home office.
To beat the problem of a lack of privacy in your home-based business, make sure the area you will be working in is secure. Install dividers, curtains or build a wall to keep none-business related stuff separate.
Next, provide storage exclusively for materials and documents that require some privacy. Install locks, use passwords and security software or consider using a separate area that is far from the public eye. This will help you beat the lack of privacy problems in your home-based business and protect important stuff.
