Even if you only have time to drink coffee for breakfast, drink it while your family's still at the table and eating together. If you can't accompany the family to all the Holiday trips, let them know that you've done your best to be with them and remember to ask about what happened when they come back. It's all about showing how much you care for the family. We assure you that your efforts won't be overlooked.
Holiday Trips Require Planning, Too.
If your family wants your company, let them know that they have to plan their outings carefully, as well. This will help make it clear to your loved ones that they can't expect you to drop everything whenever they've got to shop for Christmas gifts. Of course you desire to be with them as often as possible during the holidays, but if you're willing to work to your schedule around theirs they should certainly be ready to do the same.
It's All about Give and Take.
Speaking of compromises, it's best to make it clear to everyone concerned that plans are more easily carried out if everyone works together. If there are holiday goals to accomplish, all of you must learn how to give and take. If you can understand why your wife doesn't want to miss watching her favorite TV program and your daughter doesn't want to break off any of her dates then both of them should be equally considerate if there are some instances when your home-based business has to take precedence as well.
