What is Your Best Freelance Project Quoting Secret?

Successful freelancers didn't start as popular as they are now. All of them have started as lowly folks with some skills but no clients to awe. Definitely, it's either some recommendation from a friend or colleague or something called "quoting power" that got them through.
As a freelancer myself, I know how hard it is to come up with an impressive quote that will get rid of your potential client's thinking twice about your service. But I made a point to do my homework and express best how my skills can best solve a client's problem.
I'm sure many newbie freelancers can make use of a tip or two about quoting a project. Care to share your own ways of winning projects?
