Your Business Website
Previously we discussed why your home based business needs a website, how to get one, and what to avoid. Now let's look at what types of information your website should provide. A good website is divided up into several sections. You'll want an "About Me/Us" page that will tell your visitors a little about you and your company, a "Services" or "Products" page listing what you have to offer, and a "Contact Us" page. If you have them, a page listing your clients is an excellent addition. If you are offering a service such as freelance writing, design, painting, etc, photos or samples of your work are very helpful to visitors and should also be given a page. Here is my business web page offered as an example. You don't need to post your entire resume or a long biography. A paragraph or two is plenty. You'll also want to avoid flash presentations, music, or anything that would slow the loading of your page or your visitors computers! Keep your page clean, simple, and updated at all times and your customers will thank you!
